AIMS Rwanda Research Cited in New OpenAI Publication

We are recognizing the research contributions of our researchers at AIMS Rwanda following the citation of their work in a mathematical research manuscript publicly released by OpenAI on 6 October 2026.

The manuscript, which explores finite-time blowup for a supercritical nonlinear Schrödinger equation, cites two papers authored by researchers from AIMS Rwanda:

• Almost sure global well-posedness for the energy supercritical Schrödinger equations, by Prof. Mouhamadou Sy.

• Probabilistic global well-posedness for the energy-supercritical Schrödinger equations on compact manifolds, by AIMS PhD researchers Seynabou Gueye and Filone G. Longmou-Moffo, together with Prof. Sy.

The manuscript uses these results as a key point of comparison for its main probabilistic statement, highlighting the relevance of research conducted at AIMS Rwanda to ongoing work at the frontier of mathematical research and AI.

Prof. Sy holds the German Research Chair at AIMS Rwanda. His research has contributed to the development of probabilistic approaches to partial differential equations, particularly in supercritical regimes.

The OpenAI manuscript’s engagement with research from AIMS Rwanda provides an opportunity to recognise the work of our researchers and the contribution of African scientists to the global mathematical research community.

We are proud to recognise Prof. Mouhamadou Sy, Seynabou Gueye and Filone G. Longmou-Moffo for their contributions to mathematical research.
