Siyakhula: Growing Mathematics in Africa | 17-22 March 2024

AIMS is turning 20! Our landscape is growing, and together we are shaping Africa’s economic development and scientific discovery on our beautiful continent. Let’s reflect and celebrate together.

The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) will host a week-long mathematics festival in Muizenberg, Cape Town from 17 to 22 March 2024 aimed at strengthening the mathematical sciences across Africa. We will celebrate Africa’s rich mathematical heritage and promote growth in scientific endeavours on home soil. Let’s make our roots strong and let’s grow!

The festival will bring together the African and international mathematical sciences community, including representatives from universities, research institutions, governments, the private sector, civil society organisations, and the general public. We will share discoveries, exchange ideas, examine and discuss pressing issues, and inspire and empower the next generation of mathematical scientists.
